Red paint was thrown at a house with the word ‘pay’ scrawled on the front door during an incident on Monday morning.
Police were called to the two-bedroom terrace house in Borough Hill, Croydon at 2:25am after reports of criminal damage.
The word ‘pay’ had been written across the front door in white lettering, red paint was thrown across the property and one window had been broken.
The house had been vacant and reportedly sold earlier this year.
A forensic officer has visited the house. No arrests have been made and the police are appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information.
Streets Ahead, the property’s estate agent, refused to comment.
